AIDES As a service to school districts in Trumbull County, TCESC helps to credential substitutes for Bloomfield Mespo, Bristol, Brookfield, Champion, Howland, Joseph Badger, LaBrae, Lakeview, Liberty, Lordstown, Maplewood, Mathews, McDonald,
Newton Falls, Southington, Trumbull Career and Technical Center, Weathersfield and TCESC. Individuals wishing to serve as substitute aides in any of the above districts must complete the proper paperwork and training through TCESC.

Individuals
who would like to be considered as substitute candidates
must provide the following:
Appropriate
TCESC Application
A
valid educational aide permit:

ODE
Licensure application: Download the appropriate application from the
ODE Website. www.ode.state.oh.us
Type in License Application in the Search Box.

Check
or money order payable to Treasurer, State of Ohio. No Cash.
-
Educational
Aides may secure a one year license for $25. After securing two
consecutive one-year licenses, aides may then secure a four year license for
$100.

A
Copy of Tuberculin Test,
which is good for three years from date read. Trumbull and Mahoning counties
offer free TB clinics for individuals living within the counties.
All others should contact their family physician.

Trumbull
County Residents: TB Clinic at Forum Health’s
Hillside Hospital, 8747 Squires Lane NE, Warren. The test is free of charge
on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. No appointment is
necessary.

Mahoning
County Residents: TB Clinic at 496 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown.
This test is free of charge and given by appointment only, phone (330)
744-4246. Test results will be available in 48 hours.
An
I-9 Employment Verification
Form.
-
Must be completed in the
TCESC office.
-
Requires proper
identification. A passport alone is sufficient identification.
If you do not have a passport, you must have
a driver’s license and a social security card or
a driver’s license and an original birth certificate. Photocopies of
these documents will not be accepted.
A
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check:

BCI & FBI WebCheck

All
applicants for stubstitute teaching must have an Ohio BCI and FBI
check.

TCESC does do
WebCheck electronic fingerprinting by appointment.

Call (330) 505-2800 to make an
appointment Monday through Friday, 9:00 -11:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm.

Criminal
background checks require an Ohio
Driver's License or Photo ID.

Marc's
(located adjacent to TCESC) sells money orders for a reasonable fee.

The
fee for an Ohio BCI is $30 for all individuals associated with a
school district.

The
fee for a BCI for any individual not associated with a school district is
a $50 money order payable to TCESC.
TCESC
is in the process of acquiring a national webcheck machine to do FBI

All substitute candidates must read carefully and sign this document to be considered for placement on the satisfactory and credentialed substitute list that TCESC provides to school districts.
