Introduction to POWPAK

Create a personal website using POW-PAK that's as easy to use as the bulletin board in your classroom.
Within minutes anyone can have a home page online with no knowledge of HTML or web design. They can create and maintain their site without the assistance of the school's tech staff, freeing up everyone's time. Target: Educators

Target
Audience: This course is intended for
K-12 teachers who have access to a SMARTBoard interactive whiteboard in
their school that they want to learn to use with
their students. All subject areas and
grade levels may participate.

1: Introduction to the SMARTBoard
Please
check with your district first to see if they are planning in-house
training.

Topics
covered include setting up and orienting the board, using the tools and
the gallery, using the board with the Internet and other software
applications, quick and easy ways to use the board, using other file types
like jpg, Office, etc on the board. Many
ideas will be shared for using the board with your students.
Workshop
2: Using SMART Notebook to Create Classroom Activities
Topics include: Using SMART
Notebook to find, adapt and create
lessons
using the SMART Notebook software, recording with the SMART
Notebook recorder. Using the Lesson Activity Toolkit. Many
ideas will be shared for using the board with your students. It is
highly recommended that you take the Introduction class first or are an
experienced SMARTboard user.
Registration
Information
There
is a cost of $50 for full day class and $25 for half day or evening
classes for teachers in Hubbard, Newton Falls, Girard,
Niles, Warren, TCTC, all non-public schools and districts outside Trumbull County. You will need
to get a purchase order
from your district before registering.

This is a users group. It is open to anyone
who wants to learn about the SMART Board, or has questions, tips for other
users etc. It is very casual and a great way to network with other SMART
Board users in the county. Bret Gensburg, University of Akron, certified
SMART Notebook trainer, facilitates along with Pam & Sue. Registration

Snow Day Policy
Technology training will take place even if your
District has a snow day. It will only be canceled if ALL Trumbull County
School Districts are closed or the Trumbull County Educational Service
