Get an overview of the Trumbull County Educational Service Center's website and learn how to navigate through it. Everything a classroom teacher needs is only a mouse click away. Plus review websites that can help a teacher in a standards based classroom. Sites include: IMS, ODE support sites and the Ohio Resource Center. Target: Educators. Excel Tips and Tricks  March 22, 2010 4 pm – 6 pm

This workshop is designed for Excel users who want to extend their skills. Topics include: sorting, filtering, formatting information, fills, importing other data files, multiple worksheets, shortcuts and your questions. Excel 2003 will be used but all skills learned will work in any version of Microsoft Excel. Target: Excel Users. There is a cost of $25 for teachers in Hubbard, Newton Falls, Girard, Niles, Warren, TCTC and districts outside Trumbull County. Register here.  

Technology Mentors & Computer Teachers  March 30, 2010 4 pm – 6 pm

Using Technology with Marzano Strategies  April 13, 2010 4 pm – 6 pm

Have you been using Dr. Marzano’s instructional strategies? Come and learn how technology can support and integrate these strategies. See why and how to use technology tools to transform your teaching. Tools explored will be Office, MultiMedia tools, Software, clickers, SMARTBoards and websites. There is a cost of $25 for teachers in Hubbard, Newton Falls, Girard, Niles, Warren, TCTC and districts outside Trumbull County. Register here.  

Moodle  April 20, 2010 8:30 am– 3:30 pm

Moodle is a course management system that lets educators create an online component to their courses. This workshop is an introduction to the essential aspects of Moodle and covers the process of creating and managing a course in Moodle. This is suitable for 4-12 grade teachers who are skilled computer users and intend to use a course management system with their students. This is NOT a novice workshop. Target: Educators  There is a cost of $50 for teachers in Hubbard, Newton Falls, Girard, Niles, Warren, TCTC and districts outside Trumbull County. Register here.  

SMARTBoard Training

Target Audience: This course is intended for K-12 teachers who have access to a SMARTBoard interactive whiteboard in their school that they want to learn to use with their students. All subject areas and grade levels may participate. Portions of this workshop will be hands-on and homework assignments will need to be completed with your SMARTBoard and the SMARTBoard software.

Course Description: Topics covered include setting up and orienting the board, using the tools and the gallery, using the board with the Internet and other software applications, creating lessons and recording sessions with the SMART Notebook.  Many ideas will be shared for using the board with your students. The course will meet five weeks in a row beginning in at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC) on Youngstown Road in Niles. The course is available for contact hours or 1 semester hour of graduate credit from Ashland University.

There is a cost of $175 for  teachers in Hubbard, Newton Falls, Girard, Niles, Warren, TCTC and districts outside Trumbull County.
