• The Parapro Assessment consists of 90 multiple choice items that measure the knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics as well as the ability to assist in the instruction of those subjects. Educational Testing Service (ETS) developed the assessment, which is being used in several states.

• Individuals are permitted a total of  2.5 hours to complete the test.

• The questions on the assessment are arranged by subject area: reading first, then mathematics, and then writing.

• Calculators are not allowed to be used during the testing.

• There is a charge of $40 to take the test.

• To pass the test in Ohio, individuals must receive an overall score of 456 or more out of a possible 480.
